Ever since the recession started, young designers are struggling more then ever. It’s increasingly hard for them to find paid work, since people and companies are cutting back on design, causing these young talents to eventually go broke. The result? They have to start looking for jobs in other fields of work.
By not enabling young designers to design, develop their talent, style, innovate and experiment, we are risking that their talent goes to waste. And if our young designers don’t get the chance to develop their talent… who will make our future world a better place?
The fact is that not enough people understand the value of good design. Why hire a designer when you could try to make something yourself? Or that ‘creative colleague’ who’s handy? Why spend money on a good designer if the kid next door can create something average for just a few bucks… Usually this ‘We could try to make something ourselves‘ approach ends up in poor design.
So stop cutting back on design, invest in our young designers! Because we need people to make our future a prettier place… the world needs something beautiful so badly in times like these!
