Max Qwertz and Yanik Balzer worked on this project at Köln International School of Design. Starting as a theoretical evaluation of the history of Ready-made objects in design they developed several design objects that transform ordinary products into different objects with new appearances and usages.

Their aim was to demonstrate the relevance Ready-mades have for the design and its process. The outcome is a series of funny but at the same time functional objects that can easily be reproduced in someone’s garage or for mass production.

The axe shelves are simply brilliant, wouldn’t it be great to be able to install your shelves by slamming the axes into a wall?!
